Matěj Forman directs a beautiful narrative performance based on Oscar Wilde’s classic fairy tale, an allegory illustrating superficiality and selflessness. Atop a hill in Victorian England, stands the golden and bejeweled statue of a former Prince, who had lived an easy existence, unconcerned by ordinary life beyond his castle’s walls. He now finally notices inequality, misery and poverty and as reality becomes his pain, a swallow helps him on his journey of love and generosity. This epic production was created in collaboration between the Lampion Theater and the Forman Brothers’ Theatre.
