The Chess Player

Based on the novella by Stefan Zweig, “The Chess Player” presents a journey to and out of madness. Imprisoned in solitary confinement by the Nazis, a Viennese Jewish lawyer slides into insanity until he steals a book of grand chess tournaments. Living through them, he holds onto reality when one day he decides to escape from prison. The man is then challenged to a match with the greatest chess player in the world. If he takes the challenge will he be able to keep from plummeting into madness again?
